چکیده
A great potential of educational computer games in learning process has prepared a good opportunity for teachers to apply “playful elements” in learning environments. As a result educational computer games are widely used as tools to entertain, instruct, motivate and develop skills. The effectiveness of a computer game in sense of help players to learn has been matter of game education industry for years. One of the best methods to assess game usability is game heuristics. Heuristics is an evaluation method that was developed and improved tremendously from general interface evaluation to specific evaluation such as computer game application. This study aimed to provide an easy to use, yet valid method to best evaluate usability of a game, it focuses on two techniques based on two types of evaluators; the expert evaluators and real users. A decision tree, which is based on two levels of evaluation, is the outcome of this study with which, game players with the medium understanding of game can benefit from. Here first a collection of game evaluation criteria are collected from literature and then has been verified to be valid and related by experts. [Farhady Sh, Farhady A.F., Jaafar A, Sulaiman, R. Evaluation of liquefaction potential based on CPT results using C4.5 decision tree
The prediction of liquefaction potential of soil due to an earthquake is an essential task in Civil Engineering. The decision tree is a tree structure consisting of internal and terminal nodes which process the data to ultimately yield a classification. C4.5 is a known algorithm widely used to design decision trees. In this algorithm, a pruning process is carried out to solve the problem of the...
متن کاملPreliminary Thoughts on Theapplication of Real - Time Ai Game - Treesearch to Control ?
We introduce a formal deenition of a general hybrid system control game, and a decision procedure for an agent which uses simulation to inform game-playing decisions in real-time. We discuss heuristics informing the estimation of expected utilities of actions, describe metalevel reasoning criteria which direct game-tree expansion according to decision relevance, and point out challenges in appl...
متن کاملDesigning for learning or designing for fun? Setting usability guidelines for mobile educational games
While this paper looks at the definitions of heuristics and usability as they apply to digital games, its primary focus is expanding the usability dialog into the arena of mobile educational games. Recent discussions of game heuristics have made some useful connections between work completed in the area of heuristics and game design theory. This paper expands the usability dialogue, beginning w...
متن کاملGame Based Early Programming Education: The More You Play, the More You Learn
Mini-languages is a branch of Educational Software for learning programming at an introductory level. On the other hand, participation, interaction and storylines make Educational Games motivating to young learners. The study presented here examined various widely known minilanguages with an emphasis on LOGO implementations and followed a combinational route to take advantage of both Game-Based...
متن کاملBuilding Negotiation Decision Support Systems by Integrating Game Theory and Heuristics
Negotiation is considered in general very context sensitive. Since our research laboratory has successfully developed decision support systems in Australian Family Law, we have used our domain expertise to construct a variety of Family Law negotiation support systems. Family_Winner uses point allocation and heuristics to advise upon structuring the mediation process and provides solutions based...
